Look at that belly grow!

I was flipping through pictures on my phone the other night while laying in bed, and came across all the pictures that I have taken over the last eight months of my belly growing! It is so weird to look back now at pictures where I thought I was sooooo big, and then see where I am at now, just two weeks away from giving birth!
First "baby bump" sighting at 13 weeks!
20 weeks! This is when we found out we were having a baby boy!
22 weeks (looks pretty much the same as 20 weeks!)
25 weeks!
27 weeks! (This is where I thought I was sooo big! haha!)
32 weeks!
33 weeks!
Currently 36 weeks...(almost 37 weeks in this pic!)

36 Week Doctor Appointment

About a month ago, Sean and I decided that we wanted to do the 3D/4D Sonogram and see if we could get a glimpse of our little nugget! Well, he had other plans. I searched online and found StorkVision in Frisco and we set the appointment when I was about 30 weeks along. We were both very excited and a little nervous because we had heard how clear the picture can be. Being that I have a slight case of OCD, I was wanting to do the ultrasound more to make sure everything was okay (you know - 10 fingers, 10 toes, etc.) We get into the room and get all situated only to find out that my little peanut is what the doctors call "frank breech." (See picture below)
Basically, Ryland was sideways in my stomach, facing my spine with both feet in front of his face as well as one hand. That is not a perfect position to get a picture. We tried everything possible to try and get him moving. I danced around the room a little, ate a bag of skittles and drank a soda. Nothing worked. We re-scheduled the 3D sonogram for two weeks later to give the little guy a chance to stretch out and possibly turn. We go back in when I was 32 weeks and pretty much get told the exact same thing from the previous trip. Still frank breech. The nurse tried as hard as she could to get us even a profile pic of our little guy. We were disappointed, but knew we would be seeing him in person soon enough. I was told by the nurse to show the picture to my doctor at my next appointment. Dr. Allen decided to wait until I was 36 weeks and do another ultrasound to see if he turned. She was pretty confident that he was still small enough and had plenty of time to get himself going in the right direction for birth. Fast forward to 11:15am today when I had my ultrasound. Within seconds of putting the wand to my stomach, the ultrasound tech announces that...he is still breech! All he had to do was basically make a quarter turn with his head facing down and feet up...but what did my little man do: go the opposite direction. Yep, he is head up and feet down. Which is not the correct position.  We had to then wait for over an hour to see Dr. Allen (who informed us that she was running behind because her three previous patients before me that morning all had to be rushed over to the hospital because they were all in labor!!) We discussed with the doctor what our options at this point were. Ryland is weighing approximately 5 lbs. 14 oz. so there is not much hope that he is going to have enough room to turn now. First option, she can try and turn him herself (ummm, no thank you!) or we can schedule a C-section. Latter please! My original due date was August 10th, but looks like now we will be scheduling the c-section for July 28th or 29th. I just have to wait for the hospital to call back and confirm the date. I am a little anxious being that the biggest surgery I have had was my wisdom teeth removed. It is crazy to know that in about two weeks I will have my baby here with me! I am excited and nervous and pray that everything goes okay! Time to pack that bag for the hospital and get that car seat installed!!

Ryland's Baby Room

Here it goes...my first blog! I got this idea from my friend Ashley who started a blog when she had her first little girl. She is able to go online at any moment (because now you can blog from your phone!!) and capture a memory that might be forgotten if you are not at home with a pen and your baby book in hand the minute it happens! I got on her blog the other day and was able to look for hours at how her little girls are growing! So, I decided that this would be the perfect way to catalogue my baby's life and share it with family and friends. While Ryland has not made an appearance just yet (5 more weeks!), I figured I would get this all figured out so I was a real pro when he got here!
I am waiting on my maternity pictures to come back, so the first post will be of Ryland's baby room! I am so happy that it is finally finished! It was definitely a major stress! I never thought it would be so hard to pick out baby bedding! Oh but it is! Poor Sean would come home some nights from work only to find me sitting on the bed in tears because I had googled for hours and came up empty with no bedding or even any ideas of what I wanted! I asked advice from my mommy friends...find a "theme" you like they told me and then go from there! Well, what do you do when you can't find a bear, lamb or monkey that you just feel in love with...I was lucky in one of my internet searches and found a website (polkatotdesigns.com) where you design your own baby bedding! While I do not find myself a very "creative" person, they did have examples of other sets that they had previously made! PERFECT! I am all about not re-inventing the wheel!!! Sean and I made a list of our top 10 favorites and came up with a brown, blue, white color scheme! After that the rest was pretty easy! Pieces started to fall into place and the room came together and I must say I LOVE it! I sure hope that Ryland will too!

I found this wall sticker on Etsy and thought it was perfect!!!

This is the changing table/dresser!

This is a side view of the room. I think it is just so cozy looking!
I can sit up here for hours!

Another dresser and a shot of the closet! This boy already has so many clothes!
